General Permit for Aquaculture FacilitiesIn early June 2001, TNRCC mailed out a staff draft of a new general permit for aquaculture facilities. This draft would exclude most aquaculture facilities from coverage based on flow (0.36 daily flow on an annual average basis) or the use of copper sulfate. Even the facilities that would qualify for coverage would have to meet a 10 mg/L CBOD limitation. On June 28, 2001, TNRCC hosted a stakeholder meeting to discuss the draft general permit. TNRCC agreed to remove the language excluding facilities using copper sulfate from coverage and to further evaluate the flow limitation. TNRCC requested written comment by July 15, 2001.
