Development of an Effluent Guideline for Aquaculture

EPA is in the process of developing an effluent guideline for aquaculture. Each permit will (individual and general) will be required to contain the pollutant controls contained in the effluent guideline. Depending on the final effluent guideline, the aquaculture industry could be benefited or devastated by the effluent guideline. People interested in the future of aquaculture in Texas should try to stay informed on this process. Keith Gregg has been attending the workshops on this process. Also, USDA and EPA maintain web sites with information regarding this process.
